Glass resin, also known as fiberglass, is a common material used in the construction of go-kart seats. Fiberglass is a type of reinforced plastic that is made by combining a resin, usually polyester or epoxy, with glass fibers. The resulting material is strong, lightweight, and durable, making it an ideal material for go-kart seats.

Glass resin go-kart seats are typically made by molding layers of fiberglass around a foam or plastic core, which is then finished with a layer of gel coat to provide a smooth and glossy surface. The layers of fiberglass provide strength and rigidity to the seat, while the foam or plastic core provides cushioning for the driver.

Fiberglass seats are popular in go-kart racing due to their lightweight properties and ability to withstand high speeds and impacts. They are also relatively easy to produce in large quantities, which makes them an affordable option for go-kart manufacturers.

In summary, glass resin go-kart seats are made from a combination of fiberglass and resin, which provides strength, durability, and lightweight properties. They are a popular choice for go-kart manufacturers and racers due to their affordability and performance.

Go Kart Seats assembly in Rabat

To understand if our seat is mounted correctly, discover the models available depending on the driver’s height and understand how to improve the kart’s set-up by moving it, we asked for help from Aldo Fattore, owner of IMAF Racing Seats, a manufacturer of seats and accessories for the world of karting since 2003.

Each frame manufacturer indicates the correct seat installation measurements.

The ideal position is defined with track tests and varies according to the type of frame. Although at first glance the frames may seem the same in shape, often the hardness of the tubes changes, so the position of the seat can also vary accordingly by a few centimeters. If we buy a used kart and we do not have the possibility to recover the seat assembly card, we can still do some checks.

A measurement valid as a reference is the one that goes from the left spindle pin to the central point of the upper edge of the seat back.

In particular, the left side spindle pin allows for the same starting point for all the frames, unlike other areas, such as the front tube, which may differ depending on the geometry chosen by the manufacturer.

The left side gives us a height that takes into account the rotation of the seat to the right to compensate for the shift to the left due to the balance of the weight of the engine.

The displacement must be verified taking as reference the tank and the front part of the seat (called the tip) where the legs rest.

The distance between the tank and the right front tip should be approximately one centimeter greater than the same measurement on the left side.

The flat bottom of the seat must be 3 mm lower than the frame side members. If the kart is used for training, or in any case not for racing, we can keep the bottom of the seat flush with the bottom of the frame side members.

This will avoid the breaking of the bottom in case of going off the track or passing over the curbs.

Go-karting is an exciting activity enjoyed by people of all ages, whether it’s for leisure or competition. One of the essential components of a go-kart is the seat, which provides the driver with the necessary support and comfort during the ride. In this article, we’ll take an in-depth look at go-kart seats, including their types, materials, and features.

Types of Go-Kart Seats:

There are primarily two types of go-kart seats: bucket seats and bench seats. Each type of seat has its own advantages and disadvantages, depending on the driver’s needs and preferences.

  1. Bucket Seats:

Bucket seats are the most common type of go-kart seats. They are designed to hold the driver firmly in place during high-speed maneuvers, providing maximum support and comfort. Bucket seats are typically made from lightweight materials such as fiberglass or carbon fiber, which makes them durable and resistant to wear and tear.

There are different types of bucket seats available, including full containment seats, which have a higher back and sides to keep the driver’s torso in place, and low-back seats, which provide more flexibility for the driver to move around. Full containment seats are commonly used in competitive go

  1. Bench Seats

Bench seats, also known as flat seats, are designed to be more spacious and comfortable than bucket seats. They are typically used in recreational go-karts, where the emphasis is on leisure rather than competition. Bench seats allow the driver to move around more freely and provide more room for passengers.

Bench seats are also more comfortable for drivers with larger body frames, as they offer more space to adjust the seating position. However, they do not provide the same level of support and protection as bucket seats, and are therefore not recommended for high-speed racing.
